RACOON RESCUE

About the Project

This was my first solo project using Unity and a worked on it over the summer break 2022. Much like my first project in high school, I did all of the level design, dialogue, sound design, system design and development by myself. Additionally, this project allowed me to practice my animation skills as I singlehandedly created animations for the main character (4 directions of walking and chopping animations). It was also great practice for debugging, since--despite the fact that I was the only one writing code--things broke a lot.Β 

The game itself is a classic top-down puzzle RPG about a family of raccoons (a mama and 3 babies) that have their plane fail, scattering them across a remote island chain. The mom must go on a journey to find her babies and work with NPCs to build a makeshift boat for traveling between the islands. It has 3 large islands, each with their own core puzzle and accompanying NPC.

It's a really cute game, and it was a great way to simultaneously build up my Unity skills and get experience with all aspects of video game production. Give it a play-through, and leave a comment on my Itch.io page (linked below)!
